Music legend Tina Turner has died at the age of 83 after a long illness at her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. Turner was a soul and rock powerhouse known for her octave-defying voice and mesmerising stage moves. She had a lengthy run of '60s and '70s R&B hits in tempestuous partnership with husband Ike Turner and struck major pop stardom in the '80s. Her death was announced in a statement on her official Facebook page, but offered no details about the cause.
