At the risk of repeating myself, it is clear what an incredible year 1984 was for pop music and this Grammy winning, career shifting hit is proof positive of that. Tina Turner had been in the wilderness for several years, when she coincided with Aussie Roger Davies and Brit born songwriter Terry Britten and Scot Graham Lyle and 'What's Love Got To Do With It' was the track that brought them all international fame. Despite not being entirely sold on it initially, Tina came to love the song; especially when her recording topped the charts and swept the awards in 1984/5. A terrific morphing of genres, 'What's Love Got To Do With It' would become Tina's highest selling single and would usher in an amazing new chapter in her extraordinary career.
