The world is still grieving the loss of Tina Turner, a music icon who passed away on May 24 in Switzerland at the age of 83. Turner's enormous body of work of music and unique legacy have drawn people from all around the world to hear her music since her departure. She now appears again on several Billboard charts, and she even debuts on an important list as a result.
On the Billboard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, Turner makes his debut this week. On the chart, which tracks the rock songs that sell the most copies each week in the US, she achieves three victories.
On the Rock Digital Song Sales chart for this week, "Proud Mary" is placed first among Turner's hits. It's noteworthy that her solo performance, not the Ike & Tina Turner-credited version, is the one that tops the charts this time around. "Proud Mary" makes its debut at No. 5.
In the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, "Better Be Good to Me" debuts at No. 8, just after "Proud Mary." This week marks the release of "It's Only Love," a duet with Bryan Adams that debuted at No. 25 decades after its original release.
It may seem strange that Turner, a pioneer of rock and roll, particularly for women of color, hadn't previously achieved success on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. However, this ranking wasn't created until long after she had reached her peak, and by the time it was, several of her biggest singles had already found success on other Billboard charts. Her music has therefore recently been included to this particular collection. Older musicians frequently debut on the Billboard charts after their passing because it increases music sales and streaming.
A few of Turner's well-known songs are making a comeback this week while others are making their debuts on different Billboard lists. While the Rock Digital Song Sales list only includes tracks that are regarded as rock, Turner's library includes songs in a variety of genres, including R&B, pop, and electronic.
